Harry Potter is a book series written by a British author who writes under the name J.K. Rowling. This is a quick summery about the plot of the author’s sixth installment of the Harry Potter series. These are the events that happened during Harry’s sixth year at Hogwarts, the school of witchcraft and wizardry.

How Harry Gets To Hogwarts

Dumbledore picks up Harry from his home in order to return him to Hogwarts. Harry is then reunited with his friends, Ron and Hermione. They overhear Draco threaten Borgin and insist that he fix a mysterious object. They then make their way to school. Upon their return to Hogwarts, they hear that Snape is the new defense against the dark arts teacher. This is a position the school’s potion master has always wanted.

Harry finds a book labeled the half-blood prince. Amendments to many of the spells are written on the margins of the text that allow Harry to excel in potions that semester. Harry spends a lot of time with Dumbledore trying to learn more about Voldemort. He learns about the Dark wizard’s family and past.

Harry spends much of his time early in the novel attending to his duties as quidish captain and tracking Draco, who he believes is a death eater. Harry is unable to make any progress with tracking him throughout the first half of the book.

Harry And Dumbledore Make Progress Against Voldemort

Later in the book, Harry and Dumbledore set out on a mission to destroy Merope’s locket. This is needed to make Voldemort mortal. It’s a necessary step Harry must complete to destroy him. When they get there after beating a series of traps, they find that the locket is hidden under a layer of poison. Dumbledore drinks it. This makes him weak.

Dumbledore’s Death

Upon arriving back at the castle, Draco rushes into Dumbledore’s office and threatens to kill him. Dumbledore quickly talks him out of it. He reminds Draco he isn’t a killer. Snape then rushes in and kills Dumbledore.

Harry’s Reaction

Harry heard Dumbledore’s death but was unable to move because of a potion that Dumbledore placed on him. Once Dumbledore died, Harry was able to chase after Snape. Snape was able to get away. This made Harry very angry.

Harry Finds Out About The Locket

Upon inspecting the locket, Harry realizes it’s not one of the horcruxes. He then informs his friend that he will go in search of the real one instead of returning to school for his seventh and final semester. His friends tell Harry they want to join him on his quest.

Finding The Half Blood Prince

Since Harry Potter is the most popular children’s book of all time, it’s extremely easy to find a copy. Your local bookstore probably has one.
